Lazy Sunday afternoon

Some days are just perfect. And today was one of those days that was close to perfection. Sunny, happy, wind, some rain every now and then, but mainly fair. Wind gradually decreasing and many things to do.

At noon we started with a visit from Neptune. All covered in shells, the ceremony of welcoming a new group of shellbacks into his realm was started. Names were given, Green Turtle, Leatherback Turtle, White tipped Shart, Black tipped Shart, King Fish, Manta Ray and Frigat Bird, were taking up in the ranks of the blue ocean wanderers. With a small dowsing they were relieved we didnt pull any tricks on them.

After the ceremony, as if to welcome the new pack, a group of dolphins appeared and played around the bow for over an hour. We could not decide on the exact species of dolphin, dark grey, big dorsal fin, white on the belly and possibly some spots around the flanks.. Not big enough for Bottlenose dolphins, not spotted enough for spotted dolphins and not spinning enough for spinner dolphins… any suggestions?

We have had Noddies around, some Boobies, a few terns and a tropic bird.

Truly a perfect welcome into Neptunes Realm!

As it was also Sunday, we had our traditional beer on the aft. In between showers, we had a short social gathering in our tiny pub on the aft. And then it was time for a chicken roast dinner.
