Busy busy day

What a day, we have kept ourselves nice and busy. Starting after lunch with a change of the mainsail. Normally we would have changed the sail at the end of the doldrums, while we had to do a bit of motor sailing any way, to keep going. But no such windless area can be found. We have a nice breeze, steady and increasing by the day.

After changing the mainsail, we saw a few clouds gathering. Then white foam started to form on the top of waves and so we changed the big jib into the second jib. That felt good, still doing 8 or even 9 knots. Then around 20:00 hours, watch handover, the wind increased a bit more and so we put in a reef in the mainsail and a reef in the mizzen.. The mizzen reeftackle line got stuck in between the shive of the block and the outside of the block. And so I had to climb onto the mizzen boom to get it lose. But after that the ship felt good with the stronger winds pushing through in the rims of the showers.

We have less then 1000 miles to go and everybody is still excited to be out here.

The moon is only a small smiling cat and so the stars shine very brightly (if there are no showers..) There is bio luminescence in the water, sparkling algae, awake due to the Tecla plouging through the ocean.

A flock of 14 boobies came to check us out this afternoon, they were bomb diving after the flying fish and you could see them in the clear water, and the coming up with a fish in their beak.
