Wandering over this big big ocean

Progress has been good. We have left the tropics behind is and can only see the Southern cross when the sun sets, and with a lot of imagination.. In the meanwhile Polaris is climbing higher and higher and shining brighter every day. Strong trade winds brought us as far as 25’30 North and have started to become a light breeze. We have shaken out all the reefs and set our big jib in the front. I just eased out the sheet of the big monster in the front and it sort of growls contented, time to go to work. Hopefully we can set the topsails around dinner time and get our speed back up.

We have been bird spotting and spotted the Hawaiian Petrel, we have been guided by the Frigat bird, the brown booby, wedgetailed shearwater and tropic bird. We have seen some dolphins, but they were very busy gathering food, too busy to ride our bow wave. We suspect they were bottlenose dolphins.

Other then that, the water is very blue, amazing blue! The temperature is getting more and more tempered and easy going. Although the sun is still very sharp.

Routine is settling in, new crew means sea legs need to be found and this lighter breeze is agreeing with everybody much more then the choppy start!
All is well on board, Jet
