Kirsty Hunt joined us for a cruise along the Brazilian coast. She had never sailed before and booked her trip through one of our Adventure friends, Another World Adventure (www.anotherworldadventures.com) – here is a short review off her experience on board.
“A fantastic trip! Of course, sometimes you look around/think about what your doing and wonder – “what the hell am I doing here?!”, but it was a great feeling, to learn a completely different skill, to be thrown into a very different world, away from technology and the daily grind – I really enjoyed it! I cannot praise the crew enough, the most helpful, obliging, kind and strong people I’ve ever met. They never forced you to do anything you were not comfortable with, and encouraged you if you did give some tasks a go. They also helped you to laugh at yourself and not take things seriously – which we learned was pretty important! Who knows what they thought of us, but we thought they were brilliant 🙂
The trip was well planned, especially around the Costa Verde – with us seeing around 4 islands, enjoying the local culture, wildlife and of course learning how to sail…! the timing of the stops in the Costa Verde were great, and could have even been longer! The addition of Rio and Angra dos Reis, also made for a good mix of large cities and smaller/friendlier towns. Although we ran into some problems along the way further up the coast with bad seasickness and the weather not being favourable. It was these challenges that I believe made me appreciate what we had done and grateful to the crew for helping us through it. Personally I appreciated their openness and how they were willing to adapt and help us through any situation. ”
