Boboti (by Jet)Boboti (door Jet)

An easy sweet and spicy mince meat curry – 5/7 p. Preperation time about 35/40 min

I have learned half of this recipe from a cookbook full with ships cooks, the other half is my own imagination and trying it out! So maybe after making it 3 times, you will come up with an even better version!

Ingredients:

Oil
Mince meat (1 kilo)
6 unions
6 garlic toes
1,5 tbl spoon Curcuma
3 tbl sp Curry (a good smelly one!)
4 apples
1 cup of raisins
2 cups of Chutney (if you do not have this real marmalade will do fine! Use more curry!)
8 old bread slices (or bread crumbs)
10 eggs
0,5 l milk

Fly the curcuma and curry in the oil for 30 seconds on high fire then add the curcuma and curry. Keep stirring until the union is getting glazy then add the meat. Stir and bake for about 5 to 10 minutes then add the apple, raisin and chutney. If you are using bread add it now, if you are using crumbs, wait until the last minute. Cook for another 5 minutes. Pre – heat the oven on 180.

Putt the eggs and milk in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Add the mix in the last minute to the meat and stir, add the breadcrumbs if you are using them. Then take a big enough baking tin and get the whole Boboti into the tin.  Slide it into the oven and bake for another 15 min.

You can serve this meal with rice and what we like on board are citrus lentils. To make these, cook dried lentils for 35 minutes with half of the peel of a lime (or lemon if you can’t get a lime).Voor nu alleen nog even beschikbaar in het Engels, kom snel met de NL versie!
