We have just taken down all sails, after a day and night of beautiful
sailing. The wind has decreased to a flutter and the sea state is
smooth, with a small swelll.
We just filled in the 04:00 logbook, it turns out, we had better go
swim then stand outside. 6 degrees air temp and 7 degrees water temp!
We are measuring the water temp to see if and when we hit the
Antarctic conversion zone. Here the water should be 4 degrees and
teaming with life as the current comes from deep and brings up all
sorts of food for sea life. So far we have spotted hourglass
dolphins, one humpbackwhale and some commerson dolphins, looking
forward to seeing what the atarctic waters will bring!
