Sunday Traditions
Today was Sunday and since our first ocean crossing we have had a tradition of having one beer on the aft with the whole crew at dinner time. It is a social event, a moment of relaxation and having a laugh with the whole crew, as we are so divided by the 6 hour watches. And as we were enjoying the company, the beer and the beautiful view, some of the past Sunday beers came to mind. The one with the Frenchman, the Belgian, the Bermudian and the Dutchguy sitting on the aft with a small cigar and a beer. Or the one with the Irish ladies who made the aft and that one beer, feel like a short and sweet moment in an Irish pub. Or the one with just our skeleton crew crossing the Indian Ocean, having fresh Tuna from the BBQ, just before the rain started. One and all amazing memories. And this night can be added to it!
It is 28 degrees outside, even now the sun has gone down. The wind is holding her 10 to 12 knots, making us do remarkable speeds as we close in on the equator. And there we were sitting, blue ocean surrounding us, having a laugh and watching a Brown Boobie dive for fish.

Today is Monday though.. and a special Monday it is! Erik, our first mate, has his birthday today and we started of well, with a small desert as cake at watch hand over! We know he doesn’t really want to celebrate it, but we decorated the hallway, lounge and kitchen any way! And it a good reason to have extra deserts and cake!
