The picture of the day is also the catch of the day, Andy is showing off the King Mackerel he caught 10 minutes after throwing in the line! A perfect birthday gift for Josu, fresh fish for dinner! Soon after catching this King Mackerel, we saw hunting fish jump out of the water, trying to catch bait fish. We wondered if they were small tuna’s or possibly Bonito’s. But we could not see them for long enough.. and when Tim threw in the line again, they would not bite the lure.. I guess there was too much fish around to tempt them!

Just after lunch we set all sails, except forestaysail. The previous watch had just taken the old forestaysail off and we were going to lash on the new sail after lunch. We sailed for about a half hour, perfect, quiet, calm and a waves we were sort of able to ride.. But then a shower came along.. took al the wind away and we were forced to take down all sails again due to lack of wind. We were still hopeful for the afternoon, the weather report said winds from the North West.. but alas for us.. it was not enough to keep the sails full.. and also.. a new wave had come in.. A big swell from the South is rocking us, although no wind from the South can be felt!

So under engine we go. Luckily we can, because having to wait this out would not have been fun!

We did end up getting the new forestaysail on, so maybe if this Easterly breeze we can feel right now, stays with us, we may set it during this dog watch.

All is well on board, Jet
