Moonlit nights

We are speeding along, wind on the stern, waves on the stern and like a rocket we shoot into the moonlit night. Finally a night where we can see our feet, or even better, I think we could have read a book. It was so bright I started making pictures. Inspired by the pictures Michal made on our voyage in the Pacific last year, I tried to steer and take pictures at the same time.. results were ok, but nothing like the one Michal made on our way to Tahiti!

We have made our way into the really warm and humid latitudes. The clouds are slowly building up and the showers have gone from drizzle for a few minutes to big droplets. Not enough for a midnight shower with shampoo yet, but enough to wet your tshirt and land on your warm skin, making you shiver.. although it is still 27 degrees outside..

Our GPS has a cover over it, we are no longer comparing our position to the calculated position of the Meridian Passage. We have done our first LOP in the chart and found that the scale is possibly, somewhat large.. and so the distance between sightings is fairly small.. But I am convinced that if we need it, we can navigate and find the islands or shore we are looking for!

Other then that, we have been chatting lots and lots. In our own way finding ways to better the world, or share experiences. During the night it was our education system and what you wish you would have learned in school, but didn’t and the teachers in school that were inspiring or those who needed more inspiration in their lives. Leaving the system behind while out at sea, far away and for a long time disconnected, can feel liberating. It can also make room for new ideas, and boy do we have ideas and plans!

All is well on board, jet
