Today was already our second Sunday out at sea. Time has gone by very quickly!
But it was not a regular Sunday, it was a birthday Sunday! With a decorated saloon and a very false singing choir, we celebrated Karens birthday, she planned this very well, as we could all join in on toasting on her birthday with a beer at 18:00h.

Other then that we have found our first red footed booby, it was circling around the ship and making use of our scare tactics for flying fish. It would swoop down every now and then, accelerate just above the water and catch up with the flying fish that would jump up to fly and get away from the Tecla. We saw him catch at least one flying fish, so much speed!
A pod of spotted dolphins came to visit us twice during the day, or two different pods.. They were very playful. Surfing in our bow wave, surfing the swell next to us and jumping up as high as they could. One miscalculated and bumped into the Tecla. All who saw were very concerned for his headache, but the dolphin just swam on and headed in another direction, possibly a little embarrassed.
The temperature has shot up the last two days, and while we had a vale of clouds during the morning, the afternoon was full on sunny! Discussions about how best to apply the fan in the room are hot topics during the watches.
It did mean that our washing day went very quickly, washing was dry within an hour of hanging it outside. The deck smelled lovely with all the clean clothing drying in the wind and sun.
Picture of the day was won by Joana, a picture that tells it all, the red footed booby in the sky, some people taking pictures of the bird, others reading a book, some in conversation and some just laying back on a Sunny Sunday afternoon.
You can follow the Tecla by yellow brick, every 4 hours an update and also old tracks and video’s: https://my.yb.tl/Tecla
All is well, Jet
