Talayoak or Spence bay has many sights to offer and gives our crew the opportunity to stretch their legs. A day long hike has been set out by most of the Expedition crew although other want to stay in Talayoak and try out their luck with a fishing permit and rod… Arctic Char is on the menu for tonight – caught by our own expedition crew.
The local community of Talayoak has partially left the settlement and are traveling to their summer hunting grounds, a family tradition that is coming back into the modern life of the locals. Their summer holidays are spend out on the plains hunting for caribou or out on the water, hunting for Arctic Char.
