Although our family company was established in 1983 working on flat bottomed vessels in the Netherlands. It was in 2006, that we bought the beautiful Tecla and started sailing her as a family. We had big dreams with her. Gradually we made our dreams come true.
- Sailing across the Atlantic for the first time in 2009.
- Circumnavigating the world between 2012 and 2014.
- Setting sail North in 2016
- Completing our attempt through the North West Passage in 2019
- And sailing around the Americas in 2019 and 2020
We work as a team on board as well as in the office, which means that you will be in contact with at least two of the three persons of the family. Jannette is the first generation. Together with her children, Gijs and Jet, she now runs the Tecla. All three of us are fully certified under Dutch Law as captains of sailing vessels world wide. Together we plot and plan our next adventure as well as your next hike.
Our family business means a lot to us. We work hard to make sure the Tecla is maintained and kept up to date. But also that your email gets answered quickly! On board we feel it is important to get to know you. As we sail in small groups of 12 guest crew and 3 or 4 permanent crew. You will really become part of the team on board.
Our small groups make your adventure, your holiday, your once in a lifetime experience, something really special. Landing with a dinghy on South Georgia and just being there with maximum of 16 persons, means that you can really feel free. You can have your unspoiled views. You are part of this amazing expedition and you know every single person on board.
We would love to share these experiences with you. Or find the next new hike with you.
So if you have any questions, let us know and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
