What one can tell themselves is hiding in the dark and then freak out about, is so fascinating! The nights are extremely dark, no moon, low cloud cover and so no stars, just our sailing lights shining into the dark. It can feel like a scene from a series, possibly right out of Shadow and Bones, not knowing what is lurking around us. The words from Game of Throne come into mind straight away, the night is dark and filled with terror. But the only terrors here are our crew mates messing with us! Telling ghost stories at the end of the watch, saying they may have heard something, wondering out loud if it would be possible for someone to be on board without us knowing it.. and so the Thriller book or movie scene is written. Five individuals on a ship, or were there six? One by one they start sensing someone else on board, and then, one evening, in the dark, one of the crew mates is very late for his watch

But dont worry, we were all there, on time, maybe a little startled by the ghost stories, but other then having to walk downstairs in pairs, we are all fine! No other people on board! Or they would surely have poked their heads out during one of our happy chatty dinners!
And with telling you all that, you may already understand that there is little else to report. We are having an amazing time under sail. Wind has been good throughout the day, speed has been consistently high, sometimes hitting the 8,5 knots and just eating away at the our miles South. The wind has started to decrease in the last hour, so we are down to 5 knots now. As long as we can keep this up comfortably we will keep on sailing (so without the sails shaking too much) and start the engine only when we loose all speed.

We are about 200 miles off Finistere. During the night we have seen 1 vessel pass us at 10 miles distance, its nice and quiet out here, lots of room for us to sail.
Soete has turned on music now, I have been off the deck for 15 minutes.. I guess it keeps your mind off the intrusive thoughts about having to walk downstairs alone later on! Creedence Clearwater is asking if I ever saw the rain, coming down… the what..? What does he actually say? Have you ever seen the rain coming down the lonely plane? Anyway a good song to steer into the dark night.
