The Tecla will set sail from Reykjavik, sailing to Ullapool, Scotland.
This voyage is all depending on wind and weather. The roughly 700 miles between Reykjavik and Ullapool can be sailed in 5 days with a favorable wind, leaving time for exploring. But if winds are less favorable, this will mean only sea time until the Ullapool. Exploring may encompass the Faroe Islands, but definitely Shetland, Orkneys and the Outer Hebrides.
Underway you can expect all kinds of weather. Head winds, no winds, beam reach, they will all come to pass! As well as many sea birds and hopefully some sea mammals! Leaving Reykjavik the chances are that you will see Orca’s, Humpback Whales and Common dolphins. Which are not at all Common when they play with the bow wave and send you off on a good voyage!
You will be part of the crew that will keep watch. During your watch you will be out on deck, steering the vessel, being on the lookout and helping out with sail handeling. If you need any see time or miles logged, bring your booklets and we can help out.
