Tuesday august the 1st,

We have left Nome and are on our way to Point Barrow.
We had have the most fascinating time in Nome. What a strange place that is.
It is the place of the big Goldrush in the twenties of the last century and everywhere you see scrap gold diggers and signs of old times.

Even in the present there is a lot of Gold mining in Nome. The atmosphere is a bit of the wild wild west. With saloons, casino’s and unfortunately a lot of poverty and addiction of the local people.

Nome was also the place to buy some last stuff for our big trip. extra food, rain gear and souvenirs are brought on board and with a lot of impressions we set sail.
The whether is nice and quite with a light southwesterly wind. We are with the mizzen and the staysail up on engine heading North.

All is well on board and we are in good spirits.
