As always when in port, we get too busy or maybe it’s more that we get out of our rhythm of our days on board and we fall behind on our updates.
In short, we had an amazing time on the Falklands once again! Big thank you to Paul and Sally for helping us and making us right at home!
On boxing day it was blowing a full gale in Port Stanley. We were alongside the East Yetty, pushed up against the big tractor fenders, feeling very safe! The following day it was amazing weather, in the morning it rained, but as we woke up with a late breakfast, a beautiful summers day emerged. On the 28th we went to see a sheep shearing competition, which was pretty impressive! 1 minute 40 seconds for one sheep! On the 29th we worked hard on getting our ocean sails off and our new set on. We prepared to leave and on the 30th we just had to take in fuel, send our last emails and call our family and then set off!
As the last day of the year is upon us, we are sailing into the dark starlit night. We have to get to Puerto Williams and our weather gap of 3 days is now.. so new years will have to be spend at sea with our small but hardworking and keen crew. Looking forward to starting this new year with them!
All is well on board,
Jet
