Today was the day, around 14:00 board time, we made it from the Northern hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere. On a course of 215 with 5 to 6 knots close hauled or close reaching, the ride was quite bumpy! So we decided the ceremony of name giving and right of passage should be done on a later moment, when everybody is a little more stable on their feet.. And, up for a bad joke.. So we stuck to a rum tod, with one glass for Neptune and all those no longer with us.

Our crew is doing really well. A happy crew as you can see in our group picture. The last 24 hours have been a little more challenging then we first thought. We are rocking around a lot and steering takes concentration, where as this was less the case on our previous courses. Our previous weather reports said beaufort 3 was to be expected.. the current weather report is more honest and says its about a force 5, which is what we are experiencing. So straight from the doldrums into a force 5 headwind, is an adjustment, one could say! For the coming days the wind should decrease a little over the next 24 hours, to a force 4. hopefully the waves will decrease as fast as the wind does. The sun is still hot and burning during the day, with a bit of salt spray, some of us got a little sunburned due to this combination.

We caught a dolphinfish last night and this evening we ate ceviche from it. Very tasty. We have seen some Sooty terns as well, but no other wild life yet.

All is well, jet
