Whats the hurry, just 4613 miles to go!

The last 24 hours, we have had some amazing sailing and some amazing flogging.. By 23:00 board time (utc-1) we had to start the engine and get all the sails down. We were just rolling around too much and the wind was dying out completely.

During the day we did sail very beautifully, the wind picked up in the morning and we were doing 6,5 knots, almost straight for the Cape Verde Islands. During the afternoon we were joined by a group of spotted dolphins, who played around the bow for over 30 minutes. This gave Josu the opportunity to make to picture of the day (I have not received it yet, so will post it later today).

Although we are heading straight for the Cape Verde islands, we will not stop on the islands. We have all the provisions we need and our 24hour average has not been very high, so we will not ‘waste’ time around the islands, we will just have to keep on going. We need an average of 120 miles per day and hope to do so as soon as the wind picks back up again, South of the Cape Verde Islands. We will, however, pass in between the islands, as we are under engine for more then 24 hours, we may as well find something beautiful to look at while we are doing it.

Other then that, the atmosphere on board is good. It is getting warmer, but its not too hot yet. During the day the temperature is up to 26 degrees in the shade, the surface water temperature is up to 25,5. The nights tend to still cool down a lot, tonight, without our normal wind, was the first night I put on shorts.
Night snack is almost ready, so I will round up this short summery of our day with saying,

All is well Jet

Still on our way to
