We seem to have had all sorts of weather today! Wind, no wind, a little too much wind and even a little bit of rain and lots of sunshine. We started off with topsails, just after lunch we took the topsails down as the wind increased to a force 5, we even went down wind for a little to ease the pressure on the rest of the rigging. And 30 minutes later, we had the engine on as the wind had collapsed and the choppy wave it had thrown up was a little slow to understand that the wind was already gone.. We turned the engine on around 15:00h and turned it back off around 18:00h utc. After which we sailed without topsails, doing 6,5 almost 7 knots, until after dinner, when we set them again. Not the best choice, as dinner seems to be in the way of using ones abdomen muscles… or so it feels while pulling hard on the ropes..

Dinner was amazing, Maike en Myrthe prepared pizza’s! We enjoyed our dinner outside, stuffing ourselves with salami pizzas and spinache and cream pizzas. Very nice!
The atmosphere on board is really good. It seems everybody is used to their rhythm by now and has settled down into routine. That makes life on board quite easy going and enjoyable. The coffee is good, the ice coffee is still amazing and our endless supply of cookies is keeping everybody satisfied as well.

Just 30 minutes ago we were doing 8,5 knots again, topsails up, big jib in front, making North, taking the wind just on the aft quarter. Right now, the wind has completely disappeared again. 3,5 the gps shows me.. time to have a look outside.. maybe start the engine for a little bit, before the mainsail starts flogging again and the rigging gets a beating of the waves.
All is well on board! Jet
